According to his Wikipedia article, Dale Clevenger was born on July 2, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. From 1966 to June 2013, he was the Principal Horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra until his retirement.
Before joining the CSO, he was also an essential member of Leopold Stokowski's American Symphony Orchestra and Alfred Wallenstein's Symphony of the Air.
