Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos Accident Update 

A truck driver has been found guilty of vehicular murder and other crimes after creating a flaming pileup on a Colorado highway.

The flaming pileup killed four people and wounded six more.

On Friday, a Jefferson County jury found Rogel Lazaro Aguilera Mederos guilty in the April 2019 incident on Interstate 70 west of Denver.

According to the Denver Post, when Aguilera Mederos is sentenced on Dec. 13, she risks decades in jail.

The driver stated that his semitrailer's brakes failed before he crashed into cars that had been delayed due to another accident in Lakewood, Colorado.

Prosecutors claimed he might have taken advantage of one of many available runaway ramps.

In December 2021, a judge sentenced him to 110 years in jail for his role in the crime.

When he was condemned to jail, he expressed regret to the relatives of those who died when he slammed the vehicle into them.

He then pleads for forgiveness, explaining that he never intended to harm them and that it was simply a mistake that resulted in the deaths of four people.

District Court Judge Bruce Jone handed down the sentence, claiming that he must serve 110 years in jail since he committed such a heinous act.

The decision was made on Monday, December 13th, 2021.

The event was captured on video. On the 25th of April 2019, he allegedly obliterated four people on Interstate 70, Lakewood, with his out-of-control semitrailer.
